Project management for gas and network infrastructure

Are you planning a construction project in the vicinity of our high-pressure gas pipelines? We will support you - safely, efficiently and competently.

Our services at a glance

Whether you are a local authority, planning office, investor, developer or architectural firm - construction projects in the vicinity of high-pressure gas pipelines require maximum precision, in-depth technical knowledge and close coordination with the authorities. This is exactly where we come in. From the initial idea to successful realisation, we are at your side with comprehensive specialist support in all relevant steps.

In compliance with all applicable safety and distance regulations (e.g. SIA, SVGW, GGR 11/6), we analyse the local conditions, check the location of existing pipes and identify potential conflicts or risks at an early stage.

Our experts will advise you on the planning of technical measures and work with you to develop specific safety concepts that are tailored to the construction method, utilisation and construction phases of your project.

We support you in the preparation of application documents, coordinate communication with the relevant authorities and guide you through the necessary authorisation processes. Thanks to our many years of experience, we know what is important and how to run processes efficiently.

We are familiar with the requirements of the relevant authorities, maintain a close dialogue with the authorities and provide you with expert support throughout the approval process.

As a central point of contact, we coordinate communication between you, the network operators, the cantonal authorities and other stakeholders involved to ensure smooth processes and timely project completion.

Birr reserve power plant

The Birr reserve power plant is a temporary emergency plant with eight mobile gas turbines, operated with gas or liquid fuels, in operation since 24 March 2023 and planned until the end of 2026.

Ganeos AG was responsible for the gas pipeline project from planning to commissioning and maintenance, as well as connecting the reserve power plant to the high-pressure gas network. In total, the existing natural gas transport line was extended by around 450 metres and laid underground on the GE site in Birr.

Flood protection project on the Alpine Rhine - Rhesi

The Rhesi flood protection project aims to increase the discharge capacity of the Alpine Rhine from 3,100 m³/s to at least 4,300 m³/s over a distance of 26 kilometres

The project requires structural interventions in the high-pressure gas network. Depending on the section, adjustments to the pipeline routing or additional safety measures may be necessary. Ganeos AG is coordinating all protective measures and possible pipeline relocations in close consultation with the project managers.

Runway extension at Zurich Airport

Zurich Airport is planning to extend runways 28 and 32 in order to increase safety margins, improve operations in all weather conditions and reduce delays and aircraft noise.

Ganeos AG operates several high-pressure gas pipelines on and adjacent to the airport site, which will have to be adapted or relocated as part of the runway extensions. We are supporting Zurich Airport as a specialist partner in the gas transport work package, from the project idea and technical concept through to the pipeline project ready for approval.

Noftall line relocation in Lütisburg

In spring 2024, a large slope in the Thurprallhang near Lütisburg slipped, followed by further landslides in the summer. In August, around 4,500 m³ of material was washed onto the municipal road, endangering the road, buildings and gas pipes.

Ganeos AG has been involved in assessing the situation and planning the project since the start of the landslide near Lütisburg. A large-scale bypass is planned due to ongoing landslide activity and the risk to existing pipelines. The planning approval project has been submitted and implementation is scheduled for 2026
